This could’ve ended up bad.

I'll bet 20 percent of the trucks in my yard are there , the boss doesn't care , had one just shut down one day.

When I was at Transcon, they put seals on the fuel pumps to keep teams from changing the button after they left.

When PIE aquired Transcon, we all wanted to drive those trucks, they were faster but did not have Fla. permits, I got 2 tickets
in 1 week, drove one 50 miles before I realized it was 10 spd. and not 9.

I remember the “seal on the fuel pump” days, a “good” mechanic could get you around the seal though...
:smilie93c peelout:
I've thrown enough lead seals down the bank at Brocks Truckstop at Whitmire S C off B Model Macks to pollute the whole
county.
That's why PIE sealed our truck hoods, too much governor tampering.
One night out of Houston Tex, they cought the safety man holding a flashlight for a driver to turn fuel to one.
He got fired, the driver got a warning letter.

We had guys that wouldn’t mess with the seal. They’d just swap out the whole pump.

Didn't really make much sense, we were only going to drive this tractor 8 or 10 hrs, may not see it again for a year
but spend 2 hrs to gain 5 mph and take a chance of getting fired.
Now tell me, truck drivers are not smart.
