FedEx Freight | New Volvo, any centers got one yet?

It's my understanding that WAS the case a while back with VOLVO, which explains why they pretty much stopped buying them. Then Volvo relented, and we started buying them again, equipped with the Cummings X15 . Are you saying that the Volvo only drive train is the only option, again?

From a driver standpoint, nothing better than popping the hood and seeing a green engine. That or a clutch peddle.
No, they’re reluctantly allowing us to have the Cummings but that’s why we’re only getting 25 for the next fiscal year. We have two “test” trucks with the Volvo drivetrain and they drive soooooo much better than the Cummings!!

Agreed!! :1036316054:

Has any SC or hub received this new model yet?

YRC has many rolling in the midwest.

What power they running in the Volvo's D-11 or 13'?

I love my 2012 Volvo 12 speed auto it has good power and comfortable to drive I hope they keep it for while it has 686xxx on it so far

Find out what that thing has in it. Does it have the Volvo power train or the Cummins/eaton?

FedEx Doesn't buy the Volvo power train. Too unreliable. I had a 2013 Volvo with the D13/I-Shift. Great tractor. Except for the fact that in the 5 years I had the trophy truck, it spent 1.5 years in the shop. Always broken down. Engine and transmission both rebuilt at 425,000 miles by Volvo. Constantly towed because of regen issues. I was on a first name basis with every tow truck driver in 500 miles.

Injector cups constantly leaking coolant into the cylinders, which caused multiple sleeve replacements. Engine and transmission were garbage.

Loved the ride and the quiet of the cab, loved the engines power and the transmissions smoothness, hated the constant breakdowns and tows.

Its was just that way the first year or 2 when the def first came out. Those problems have been fixed. Dove for a company prior that had a fleet of million mile plus volvos
