Just wondering if anyone can tell me about the jist of the operations at Dohrn.
I am out of work now, and Dohrn looks promising until something better comes along.
I'd like to have a line haul spot-- anyone know the mileage pay rates?
How about the local city peddlers? Hourly rate? Do they pay OT?

I have only seen long box trailers with Dohrn? Do they pull pups too?

Anything else I might need to know, or any useful info-- please post.

North Indiana terminal.

All I can tell u is they abuse you. They have a flat rate they will pay on local city out of state runs then you end up working more hours than you get paid for. You are got 13 to 14 hours a day just on local work. I can't tell you about linehaul

The only Dohrn trailers i have seen in my area are 53' swing doors, some with reefer units. I dont know why they would make their local peddle drivers swing open doors all day.

not to be rude but why the hell would you wanna go to work for dohrn they have junk equipment and the worst pay in the ltl industry go to conway or fed ex 100k or more a year is better than 30k in my book no offense just sayin think before you jump

no 100k is not that hard to make a conway on linehaul board and top scale just ask around not bragging not being rude just truthful of your gonna drive might as well make the best money you can granted it don't happen overnite you just have to put on a little time but the hours you work aren't for everyone not saying its easy by anymeans have a safe drive everyone

i just started at Dohrn and its awesome, good pay fair treatment even been taking it up the ./. at the eva yard from this new manager. lol

If Dohrn is the best you can do right now for one reason or another, best of luck to you driver. Get some experience or a better drivers record or whatever you need to do and then move on. I have a couple buddies who worked there for a short time in the past. Just make sure you don't get too comfortable and keep looking for something better. Freight is kind of slow right now, I know some of the better companies are only hiring part time people, but in spring try to make the jump to one of the better companies. Don't rule out some place like Old Dominion or UPS freight even Holland if you are young and don't have to worry about a pension for a long time. Conway is a little scary with the XPO deal going through, it might work out great but it might not? Good luck driver!

When there's bills to pay and mouths to feed, sometimes guys have to take work where they can get it. 30k a year is better than 0.00 a year. Not everyone is fortunate enough to land 100k a year job.

sometimes it's just being in the right place at the right time

Now that Dohrn has been bought out by Pitt-Ohio, they are getting a lot of new equipment around here. I've also heard they have raised pay substantially. Might be worth a look for you. Good luck.

I hear from their drivers I talk to the pay is close to 20 an hour to start, but no OT until after 4 years. Don't know where they came up with that formula. On the other hand, some guys are content with lower wages if they get a new truck to drive.
