Does anybody think we will hit 67 mph again? This is my first year on line haul after 5 yrs in city and i hate the fact that every highway we at xme hit is 65mph. Last time i was on line haul speed was 67 but changed wile on city so i really didn't feel difference. I just hate seeing the jogger on the frontage Rd passing me up. Ok ok maybe I'm over reacting but we really need to bring back our faster trucks. Earlier arrivals at f.a.c. Means earlier arrivals for inbound. :tumbleweed:

Those arrival times mean nothing. This is a lean6sigma company now. You are lucky to be doing 62.

Safety always. The freight will get there. When doesn't matter at all. Do it safe and exception free. That is all that matters.

And even if it's not exception free, they'll make it exception free.

This is just my opinion BUT with the new HOS rules that will be going into effect,Turning up the trucks may be a positive for the company as the longer runs will now require more time to run seeing we have to take a manditory 30 min break..Not saying turn them up to 67, but 65, as most states here in the midwest have a 65 mph speed limit for big trucks....Just by turning them back up to 65 could help take the pressure off the driver on the longer runs as to wether the make it back on time or not....

It ain't gonna happen. Next. The 'yotas will get reduced. All these accidents on the dock gotta stop.

come on! it is a tax break, do you guys really feel that they care about the now hours? we will just be out there longer, and the company will tell the customers there is nothting they can do becsue it is a government mandate. they also save fuel and remember truckers!!!!! Line haul is the biggest expense! WAIT!!! let's put on more sub service!!! that will solve da problem.

Are you kidding, the way they are preaching safty you will be lucky if they dont turn them down more!:nono_h4h:

you can thank your "green union brethren" for the decrease in speed for it is their sponsored liberal agenda that has created this monster.them and their left wing kick backs that has forced a right wing company to be the pioneer in reduction in speed.67 you will never see again unless its in your american made honda accord.argue this fact.

It also dosent help to have a truck that dosen't pull well.....seems the 2012 Freightliners are a complete dog.. This is also my first year on linehaul after 7 years in the city...first 5 weeks i had a 2012, now i switched over to a 2009 with 465,000 miles and it pulls a lot better.

They said in a recent video that they would alter the computers a bit to give as much as 100 more HP while climbing a grade. Not gonna change much. But at least they are allegedly throwing you a bone. The senior guys get real hot when they are riding the cruise in a Cassy with their brand new tires and get smoked on the slightest up hill by some bottom feeder in a wore out '06.

I didn't see the video, but i heard about this "horse power" increase in the freightliners. The DD13 in the freightliner is rated at 410 hp, that is much less than the Detriot Series 60 that came in the Sterlings. Most of the DD Series 60's were rated at 475, well at least the 14L that came in the 2008 Sterling. I ran a '04 Sterling last week back from NCH on swap and it pulled hard. Hands down though, the Freightliner is way more comfortable for linehaul, i'll keep mine over a Sterling.
