Another driver was surrounded&taken of his money in JCY yesterday morning.1&9 was shutdown&driver took wrong road&ended up in the wrong place.Driver brokedown equipment&rehook'd&thought there was a group of guy's who were helping him.But,instead they took his money.Driver was unharm'd.Just another reminder that if you are not sure alway's call for help before getting out of your equipment.Be Safe out there..

Glad he was ok. That 1&9 around jersey city truck stop is a very dangerous area.

That's one reason I don't like to go to the Northeast, ATL does not have many EZ-Pass equipped trucks, and when you need one they are always gone, no assigned trucks for us. I always have to carry more money than I am comfortable with.

The area around the Jersey City terminal and Brooklyn is not a good area to get out of your truck.
Keep your doors locked and your eyes opened.

That's one reason I don't like to go to the Northeast, ATL does not have many EZ-Pass equipped trucks, and when you need one they are always gone, no assigned trucks for us. I always have to carry more money than I am comfortable with.

I would just go thru the tolls or just get one of those envelopes to turn in and give it to the tm or sup.

Whatever happened to a place called Rubes Truck Stop with the Diner right where you pulled in & out. I was there about 4 or 5 times in the early 80's. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. The arm pit of the world. Parking that tried the skills of a seasoned veteran. Hookers knocking on your door. You tried to go in there empty. If you didn't you would be empty when you got up. I could say more, but anyone who was there back in the 80's & 90's klnow what what I mean. von.

Man I sure remember that place ! It was one of my first experiences with the NE, and damn was it an eye-opener ! It was one of those times when I asked myself if I'd been right in changing careers. A genuine fish out of water I was. lol

Even the "motel" that they will put you in out there is sketchy. I kept waiting for the hookers, pimps or drug dealers to be knocking on my door. Waited to get dinner til I was on the road and stopped at one of the Service Areas on 95 in CT. Felt like I needed a disinfecting shower after that experience.

I remember sleeping at Rube's in the mid eighties, I was a young fella from Wisconsin probably too dumb to lock my doors when I was sleeping, I thought it was pretty darn exciting like I was in a movie or something. :D
