Barrons's says FedEx a potential buyout candidate with $34 billion market cap and $1 billion debt. Whoops....make that a $35.72 billion market cap after today! :holysheep:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Package delivery company FedEx Corp. (FDX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) could become a target for private equity buyers because of its modest valuation and turnaround potential, Barron's reported in its July 9 issue.
Just what the hell does this have to do with this thread?I hope that it doe not happen... that would be worse than the teamsters.

Oh well I can see you are WELL informed so I'll leave this thread for another place in time.
I like Fedex the way it is right now... If Fedex goes private that will potentially lessen my profit in the 401K plan. Don't me wrong I only have 10% of my 401K in Fedex stock, but currently I am bullish on Fedex stock.
If the teamsters take over I will quit and find another job. I refuse to give Hoffa a dime of my money.
FedEx stock up over 5 points today
Jawiljr. I work for fedex freight I do not see a 401k option for picking fedex stock. I think you are just tring to start something here.
My brother-in-law worked for Xerox most of his working life.
They were one of the first companies to go with the 401-k retirement plan.
He had some of his stocks in Xerox.
When he retired the stock, had tanked, and he said he lost right around $300,000.
He still got a good bit of money, but he took a big loss with his own companys stock.
This is just an example of relying on your companys stock,as a part of your retirement.
I'm posting it in responce to this thread.
I do believe 401-k's are a good idea, but you've got to be careful of what you invest in.
Your own companys stock isn't always a sure bet.

I just logged into my 401k at Vanguard... yep it is till there. It is called the FDX Stock Fund... which is Fedex stock.
Below is a link to all of the Funds that are available for Fedex workers:
Fedex 401K
I checked and that list is current and correct.
I think jaw was drawing a comparison of 2 possibly bad scenarios to compare and contrast philosofically and iealogically. Or, maybe he was just bashing the teamsters.....
