Ok Its getting bad at my terminal. TM yelling screaming at people. I failed to put trailer number on a D.R .and he yells "what should be your punishment!Ill let you dictate your puinshment!!" Like im a 7 year old.

My wife went in for sergery and im denied a day off to take her I have mucho personal days,and vacation time. she went in for anoher sergery and im denied that time off too,,her 73 year old grand moher had to make the 2 hr. drive to take her. This is no B.S. sergery and I cant be with her!! were dead frt wise,AND we have a guy that hasnt worked in over a monh who would LOVE to cover for me,But TM wont allow me to take a day off to be with her.Ive kep my mouth shut long enough.I need to do something,but What?? I don want to lose my job,But I want to work for a ADULT.

I don't know where you are but if you can document what you wrote here, get on the phone Tuesday morning to human resource. Get them involved quick and it will change the way your T/M acts. Ours just got fired a week ago for reasons that we don't know. T/M's can be let go I would tell to ask our's but like I said he's gone and I like him not all did.
 
Yeah I can atest to the fact that TM's are easier to get the boot than good LTL drivers.
I saw 8 of them go away at my termnial in about 10 years.
We have one now thats got the record.
He's worked here now for over 8 years.

Most human resource departments will back up drivers that are being abused by nasty TM's.
I remember a time when HR reps' came to my terminal to ask all of us what we thought about our TM.
They left,after two days,and the TM was told to clear out his desk,and get out.

One other time about the same thing happened,and the TM was demoted to another job.
He was told if he didn't like it he could just leave.

We are all human,and we can make mistakes once in awhile.
But we don't have to put up with slave driving managers,not in this day,and age of political correctness,and harasment charges in the work place.
If you can't get help from your company,there are labor laws they maybe coming into play here?
Check out your phone book for your states labor board.
 
I was Lucky enough to work for what I think is the best Linehaul Manger that Watkins and Now Fedex National has in the system and that is Jim O in SBR. I got to work for from 94 to 04, when we moved away from southren Cal.:1036316054:

first of all.. dont take that crap from no one...period.. FAMILY FIRST!!!. send in a speak up form with exactly what you said here. or if you dont want to go that route. contact hdq at ext 2303. thats directly to vp hr. Let me tell you, no way in hell i would put up with that. i had one of the worse possible tm's in the world when my wife came up with cancer, and until the day she died he understood that i had to take her to chemo treatments and radiation, and nothing he could do about it because i had the backing of the district manager and vp. so take the ball and run with it. justice needs to be done with this A$$hole.:annoyed:

AnonymousOne, there is a federal law protecting you in this situation. It's called FMLA or the Family Medical Leave Act.

Under this law you are entitled to 12 weeks(60 working days) of unpaid time off in a calender year to deal with medical issues within your family. You can take this time all at once or one day at a time if you wanted to.

All you have to do is get the doctor to sign the FMLA paperwork and give it to your employer.

this also depends on where you are at..in relation to terminal size and location. as in my case FMLA it did not apply...

Gold chains,,Well Ive been here as a O/O for 10+years,And Ive seen him treat people bad,when they complained nothing ever happened,and the complainor gets the short end of the stick. My tm has been here for longer than I. he has a good nework of people who will go to bat for him.

He has said we are all expendable for so long we belive him.
I know I can find another job,No prolb. But I like he people I work with,I Love myy job.
Theres dock worrkers who get the same crap as me,and they don wantt to have to sit on a corner wih the "Will work for food"sigh I think im gonna take this up the chain not only for me but them too.

The Fedex alert line # 1-866-423-3339.I think this is to Fedex Corporation not national or freight. You can remain anonymous and you are guaranteed a response.I have not had to use this number but I have herd that hr said they would rather you call them direct then call the alert line,so that tells me that if hr doesn't want to hear from these people they must be pretty serious people! I hope this helps!!! If I am wrong about this # can someone give us the right corp #..
 
AnonymousOne Like I wrote earlier really just get H/R on the phone. All the trouble that lead to the T/M getting fired out here is because H/R and the district Manager were called about disagrements that drivers had with the T/M, and like I said I liked the T/M but he has been let go. So its your T/M that better:hide: H/R won't put up with him:smilie_132:
 
Dude, if the company wouldn't stand behind me over this jerk I be looking elsewhere, not the Watkins way & I'm pretty sure fedex either. Good luck & stand up to this guy.
 
The problem that this TM is going to have with HR is that he's creating a hostile work environment, which could eventually lead to violence in the work place. There will be an investigation conducted by your HR department, and if enough supporting evidence is found, he will be let go. If there's not enough evidence found, he'll be put on notice and told to clean up his act or else. The investigation may take a couple of days or it may take two weeks. During that time, I'm sure that your TM's behavior will change. That is if they decide to let him know he's under investigation.

You may hate having to make a stand AO, but if you don't, you're just leaving yourself and your co-workers open to more abuse. If by chance you are a victim of retaliation for protecting your rights, it just leaves your company wide open for a lawsuit. My advice to you would be to document everything down to the last second! I worked in Corporate America for almost 8 yrs. and have put several people on notice for either yelling or cussing at me.

I don't put up with anybody yelling at me. I'm an adult and demand to be treated as such. If you want to yell, go outside, go home & take it out on your wife or kids, but don't even bother with me. I'm a professional, work with professionals, and professionals do not yell or disrespect one another.
