FedEx Freight | Hey all you Clowns in management

:biglaugh: I'm sure they will enjoy that.

You need to realize that it's top mgt that you are talking to .

There are plenty on middle mgt that is getting it just like us.

Hey all you Clowns in management That monitor This Board>>>>You make Me Ill

You know, I read this, chuckled a little, and went to the next thread in the list. After giving it a little more thought, I came back. I got to thinking about how grim the management, (high level, mid level, and lower level) in my center is, about all of the changes that are in the works, and thought I would point out that there is not currently any procedure laid out with regards to management following work, and many of the 1700 jobs lost will indeed be management jobs. Yeah, yeah, I know, we ain't in management, so F### 'em, right? Just last night, when I was signing in, getting door assignments, another driver made an off the cuff, flippant remark regarding the National drivers that are losing their seniority to him in the merger, and before I could tell him that was bad form on his part, the dispatcher leaned out the window and reamed his ass 'till hell wouldn't have it, about how he was laughing about people possibly losing their livelihood to the point that the area fell silent. The driver in question just studied his shoes. Probably not the intent of your post, but using a broad brush isn't the best way to convey a thought. Just my 2 cents.

Nicely put Arkansawolf. Apparently National management has to apply for positions at Freight. I think a lot of managers, both good and bad are going to lose their jobs. The National drivers I've talked to aren't any happier about what is going on than we are. Taking it out on them isn't right. The rug was pulled out from under them, even though we all knew this was going to happen the minute they bought Watkins.

Just remember before you go and stab each other in the back over who is who here and where you fall in the seniority list mgt , driver , or dock. We all have kids , wives & ones that need and depend on us , do you want to see one or our kids go hungry or to school without something they need ? How about a wife that takes care of you and your kids . Damn it grow up some of you. Let's keep this civil and try to help each other.

I (FXF) city driver (not affected in this mess) had a heartbreaking talk with a friend @ National that is coming to my barn only to sit on the bottom after 17 years working with Watkins as a frt handler on the dock and becoming a driver 1.5 years ago , thus putting him on the bottom of our city list. Two kids , wife and possible loss of home , funny , real damn funny , my heart is broken for him and I'll try to look out for him and help him if we can. Back to wishing mgt bad , you tell me that we don't have the same in mgt.

ok so i my be dumb but are they only dovetailing in with the amout of senoirty with the amount of time they have been on the road

Will Im not sure..But myself and a dozon new hire drivers were told if things dont change from now until Jan 30( what ever that means) We are out of a Job and have two chioces. take the sverance or go on a 90 day lay off,, I dont understand the 90 day lay off..dose that mean they might find a spot for you within 90 days, and if they Dont can you still get the severance ? or are you S.O.L. Then

It was my understanding that it will be done by job class seniority. So if your a road driver and follow the work but are forced to go to the city you will now be the low on the city board and vice versa.

If you take the severance package you can't re apply to FedEx for a year and lose seniority. If you take the 90 day layoff and freight picks up enough to bring you back in, you will keep your seniority.

Our office staff have been told they most likely won't have a job. Our TM just got married and was looking to buy a house. I feel sorry for these folks, it's a hell of a lot easier to find another trucking job than it is to find another management job.

Smoke stack, I would like to shake your hand. Your are a Gentleman. Sometimes we get heated arguements about things we feel passionate about, but when it comes down to the guts. We all do what we do for a bigger reason than Me and YOU. You made a real humbling statement. Put a few thing into perspective for me. THANKS

Here in Shamrock we have two very nice young red shirts. One married, one single. They say they don't know yet if they have a job. Maybe they are just hiding from us that they will be gone in Jan. One of them just moved here a few months ago like I did.

As to Smokestack's friend at alot of terminals the dockworkers were told learn to drive or find another job. He is in the place I'm in and I know how he feels. What does he do? He will never find another driving job that pays as well as Fedex does? Hard to feed a family on a on call board. Good luck to him and my prayers.

I think that person was trying to tell you to jump on the Tea Party Bandwagon to stop all the spending coming out off Washington DC., or we will all be on welfare in a few years.
