As long as you have haz-mat and doubles endorsements, and a good driving record, and good work history, there is nothing else to worry about. Seems like the background check gets a lot of guys worried, as it seems to take a long time to come back. If you have nothing hide, it'll come back clean and away you go. Good luck!! Good luck kebo. Did you apply on the internet or in person? It helps to hand your app to the tm in person so he can remember you and maybe squeeze an interview in. Your application is sent to Virginia then each dept signs off on it then sends it back to your terminal. Normally takes 2-5 weeks from what i've been hearing from new hires. Like rjjr said "good driving record." It dosen't have to be spotless just don't try to hide anything. They frown more on hiding something small than being up front on something big.

thanks for the reply. I applied too the Greeneville tn. term. Nothing to hide or anything. Kind of being starved where i'm at now ( on top of other things). I'll try to get by there for some face time.

as long as you have never been a teamster, i have 20 years exp. , know the terminal manager, operations manager and one dispatcher in phx. have applied three times , over the past two years with no luck . good luck to you.

i don't know how i got in; only have 6 yrs experience (clean/never have had any kind of tickets), last job was a union position, i've had 2 jobs in those 6 yrs...got hired my first time applying at Estes i only wish i would've applied when i first got my CDL and not had wasted my time at the other jobs
the best job i've ever had, hopefully it'll last a long time

Seems like they are begging for drivers at 024. I have a feeling the 2 year experience thing is out the window. If you have a CDL with the right endorsements, you got a job at 024. I think they hired 10-15 drivers in just the last cpl months.

i wonder why is that? are the other LTL companies hiring too?
spoke with a FDX freight driver and he said they were actually laying off some drivers (i guess because of the merger)
