Just finished listening to Dollar Bill's conference call for 1st Quarter.
It was stated there that they plan on rolling out and expanding the Yellow Next Day Premium Service in either the 3rd or 4th Quarter of this year. Although they didn't state which areas would be included.

When I was in LCP I noticed they had their share of people who needed walkers just to get to and from their trucks. My God why not retire when you get the age and time? I never under stood it. Hanging on just so you can show off your senority ? WOW,I'm impressed

I wonder what took them so long to work this out. They were working on this back in 2004.Trying to set it up at a few places in the Mid-West. I remember going into CVE and seeing a notice of somekind on the bullitin board at the bottom of the stairs about this and the problems the Union was giving them.I thought they would have worked it out by now.Perhaps thats why Zollers purchased Holland so he could get around the contract...

Exactly, why start over with Yellow if you USF? Now Yellow can take their time and expand as fast or slow as they want.

Dirtball, Why do we only have 80x80 instead of 100x100 like your avatar.:smilie_132:

Listened to Dollar Bill on YRCW website talk about the next COO for Premium Freight. It is to be in the Northeast within 3rd or 4th Quarter!
And he stated that within the next 1 to 1 1/2 years it will be East of the Mississippi river to the East Coast. And he stated it is not being considered West of the Mississippi River. Due to sparse population Centers.

That makes sense. The buying of Roadway and USF put alot of the Premium Service on hold for awhile there. Some of you may remember that there was a PS COO on the table to be heard a week or so after Roadway was purchased and it was pulled by the Company so they could look at the new options they now had.

Good question and why comeback to work as a casual once retired when others only are getting less then 40 hours a week too?

economic sense

yo bird dog......

when you turn 66 you can collect full social security and work full time.......

that adds about 20 grand a year on to the 75 plus road driver's wages are now.....

when you turn 70 you can collect your full pension of about 3000+ a month, collect full social security of about 20 grand a year and your road driver's wages........

not to shabby for a guy who YELLOW publicizes in the propaganda rag as a real hero....

i love those guys because they never get out what they contribute to pension plans and that means more for ME......

if they are senior to me i don't buzz behind their back that they should retire, let them take their daylight bid runs and live and work to be 70 1/2......

if the creek don't rise and i stay healthy enough to pass 2 more physicals, i'll be out of here on july 1st 2008 (1 day after my 63rd birthday [worth 125 bucks a month more] and 123 consecutive good quarters paid in freight pensions in 2 locals) and i will never see the inside of a truck or promise to tell stories around the campfires about my "trucking exploits".......

i'd like to see YELLOW call me up to run a trip after i go......

mikeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ps; we got 5 acres of beautiful rolling land with a gorgeous house 2000 feet from kentucky lake and i'm gonna learn how to fish and grow flowers.........

pps; i work out once or twice weekly and my wife does too........
