Dok, we don't know who was behind the wheel of the tractor. Yes, I agree that OSHA is likely crawling all over this. Now here's the even worse issue; last TM I spoke with told me that they no longer have any work comp insurance. IF that's accurate, what a mess! A man is dead, another person was in control of the vehicle that killed him, and the whole thing shouldn't have happened to begin with. I didn't know you at all Stan, but here's wishing for your eternal peace anyway.Absolutely no excuse. The employee was probably not trained to be doing what he was. TM’s and supervisors moving equipment to save a buck. OSHA will be all over this and should be. The safety and life of an individual should never be reduced to cost saving measures. Bankruptcy or not.
Unfortunately a family’s life has been changed forever.
May this man RIP.
How can a company operate without workman’s comp insurance? If that is the case that just proves their inability to even function sensibly.Dok, we don't know who was behind the wheel of the tractor. not sure on who was doing what I doubt he was the one moving eqp. either way it a devasting event to his family and those that knew him. With him being management should not matter.... a man lost his life........... that is tragedy.Absolutely no excuse. The employee was probably not trained to be doing what he was. your callousness is evident. And I must say kind of sad.How can a company operate without workman’s comp insurance? If that is the case that just proves their inability to even function sensibly.

Agreed drv., the fact that he was a manager is irrelevant. He quite clearly was not the one driving the Freightliner, and at this moment we don't know who was. If the driver was not qualified to be moving that truck tractor, that is dripping with liability. I'm not going to speculate on the driver; the facts there will come out soon enough.not sure on who was doing what I doubt he was the one moving eqp. either way it a devasting event to his family and those that knew him. From a liability standpoint this is bad.Agreed drv., the fact that he was a manager is irrelevant. He quite clearly was not the one driving the Freightliner, and at this moment we don't know who was. agreed it is bad . most of the old yellow management still left they are contracted in to do the close outs on auctions and suchFrom a liability standpoint this is bad.
Not sure of any compliance issues if this happened on private property.
Plus who knows who the driver is, he may have a 391 file and be compliant.
Yellow has OSHA issues, looks like they cannot get past them...
I am sure they will. just so sad . this zombie of a company is still affecting lives even during bankruptcy.Agreed drv., the fact that he was a manager is irrelevant. Are you saying (factually) that the remaining management is working for Ritchie and no longer for Yellow?agreed it is bad . most of the old yellow management still left they are contracted in to do the close outs on auctions and such
