Averitt | Quiet Lately

I was in HOU from the start and left after 19 years. Had I been younger than I was, I would have left long before. Left in Jan. of 2015 and never looked back. Truly wish I had left sooner.

It's the bottom of the pay scale no matter the raise and it really is a small company that thinks they are all that
(which they are not).

I wish you well. I suppose Brandon, Jeff, Shane, Scotty, etc. are still there. Do not miss that disaster on JFK one bit.
Thx 4 insight.... All the names that you called are still here, but Shane is the #2 man in charge & disaster waiting too happen. Non professional at all. Nightmare to work with. I`ve developing that feeling about cutting ties in the near future.Once again ,THX

Shane #2? He was ops support when I left and I remember when he was a city driver. I've heard the new SCD is a real piece of work. Good luck. I don't miss it.

Yeah, I have been thoroughly informed about Shane being a city driver & the measures then. He & I have butted heads a few times since I have been on board. Yes the SCD is not driver supportive at all, has no or very little involvement with the drivers. SMDH.

Name a few non unions that make .72 plus ? I know Fedex, OD, SEFL, Estes, AAA, XPO do not.
Estes pay there team drivers .75 cents per mile. And pay there extra board drivers .69 cent. That's still way higher than Averitt. So yes Estes is in .70 cent plus bracket.

I’m one to say, money is nice but it doesn’t guarantee you get the work. I know I will hear that everyone has all the work they can do but OD layed off 2 from linehaul in Nashville 2 weeks ago and fed ex is restructuring their city runs because of over hiring. I talk to city drivers from other companies every day and hear that they have too many people for their work load, what happens come winter when it really slows down. .70cpm is nice but not when layed off or at home

I am not trying to pick a fight however layoffs and not having a run don't equate to pay per mile. Every company will sent the bottom guys home when the runs are short.

We aren't talking team,we aren't averaging team and single pay in hopes of getting mid .70's numbers. I'm just calling BS, fake news on the post of .72 plus non union LTL companies existing in America, they do not.

I agree with C M about the .72 as of today. My point is most LTL companies are at 6,7 and 8 cents more per mile than we are. Do the math at 2500 miles a week and that is a lot of money.

I'm not a Fed Ex driver but I know their highest paying region is at .7180 cpm.

Hey CM....Off topic here but I drove past the big house in KNX on Friday. First time I have ever seen it. I thought I may have seen you out mowing the grass.

I spent a lot of time at the KNX yard...they had the best truck wash in the system...plenty of soap and hot water pressure...
