Yellow | Teamsters Union Cancels Upcoming Change of Operations Meetings With YELLOW

No.
If they should close we had little to do with it
Just like the government.
They took out more money than they could pay back.....and expect everybody else to sacrifice for a few to make out like bandits

They know the contract.
They know what they did and what could happen by writing it as they wrote it.

Doesn't change the fact that if the union squeezes them for too much they'll fold. They have too much debt to be generous. If they need to roll over any of that debt with higher interest rates things get even worse. Not cheerleading or bashing, just stating the facts as I see them. You know what happened, this crap show started when Yellow bought Roadway. it's been nothing but deterioration since. What's going on with Reimer, they f that up too?

yellow is use to the Union rolling on to its back and getting it belly scratched… well times are a changing
Anybody that doesn't understand that Yellow has been operating with an albatross around its neck for almost 20 years is delusional. Bad decisions made back then have put them in this position and there's no easy answer to the problem. In a sick way I almost hope the wise guys who say "shut them down" get their wish. (Not really, I never want to see a company shut down and people lose their jobs).

So just trying to understand. Presently there is utility language in our contract where the company could make drivers drive and work the dock. Also, from what I'm told, Holland has some road drivers working the dock at some terminals and are under the " Designated Terminal Driver " title right now. If this is true, what NEW classifications are being created ,from the IBT point of view?

I’m not looking for it to be shut down … but enough is enough… stop giving out the golden parachutes to their buddies and crying poor out the other side of their mouth … yellow is a parasite that feeds off anything it gets it’s claws into … been here to long and invested far to many years to start over again

One Yellow super regional carrier
But run under Holland work rules ?
New Penn work rules ?
Reddaway Non Union work rules ?
Yellow NMFA does not have Designated Terminal Drivers in their language.
Yellow does have Utility drivers to give them the flexibility they cry about. But not smart enough to manage ..
Now in some places a driver will go into a dark city terminal and unload their freight and reload what was picked up that day.
I personally believe when the wages and pension are made whole the IBT can sit down with these clowns and work it out.
I am tired of seeing these so called managers line their pockets for doing a **** poor job over and over.
Screw them all.....

Looks like union and company wants to put it to membership......

They know Yellow will get what they want that way.

Maybe they can get us to pull 5 trailers for nothing.
It'll be great.
Maybe put us all on call and only call who they need each day...that'd be great too. Put us on road, city, dock....whatever.

Either way if it goes to vote...the company knows who they have voting and will get what they want.
I like your sarcasm....lol

Isn't that the way it should be, the membership gets to vote and decide?

Isn't this was the teamsters did with another carrier?
I seem to think it was Red Star or APA? They pushed the carrier around until the emotions got so high they called a strike in the middle of a contract?
In just a few short hours it was all over. Customers decided not to participate and moved their cargo elsewhere in a market where there was lots of capacity.
Just like we see today..
Looks more like an exit strategy than a negotiation to me...

That seems fair, allow the members to decide their future not some unknown folks in a smoke filled rom

One way, in one form or another, this Change will get through. All the barking at each other is just that, barking. This companies, outdated freight handling methods, linehaul network , and ancient yard procedures, coupled with a lot of changes within top management in the last 20 years, has not helped either. Changes being made right now, like in Milwaukee, and Cincinnati, will continue to happen, because of too much duplication, and lower freight levels. Not saying anyone should accept any proposal thrown at them, but look at the big picture and decide if you want to continue here, or make the decision to move on.

If they didnt think the members would vote for it ...there would be no vote.
That was the result of the meeting.
No smoking allowed anymore.
Insurance companies lose money...we can't have that

However it turns out slave, wish you the best. You might want to put out some feelers at other companies, have a plan, beat the rush. Yellow has most of $1.6 billion in debt due next year. If interest rates remain at these levels or higher it will take a magician to get it restructured at terms that will leave Yellow viable.
