XPO | Ure triples crash

I like all the non and former conway people that come on this board and talk about us and a company they have nothing to do with. They're just jealous of us smokin'joe....well except for the 50/hr ot.

I agree, but much can be learned from formers that is if any of the uppers cared. We shouldn't have the turn over that we have.

PUP I wworked there and now have the representation you speak of...but conways answer will be one of the following.... driver error....too fast for conditions...you should of stopped driving if the conditions were unsafe.....i wouldnt wish that on anyone and I know you arent either...but with or without a card by time it got sorted out he would be bankrupt....either way as far as the job goes he loses.....but you and I would have to admit that the condition of that tractor has more to do than being blown over....if that was the case that truck would be just scraped on one side and missing a mirror....and then that would be an ACT OF GOD...and yrc abf ups fedex ....all of the safety departments would rule that way....again I am glad he is OK and driving jobs come and go....and accidents will continue to happen ,....being able to get home is all that matters
Yeah that tractor is shot to sh!t but I do understand exactly what your describing about damage done to the horse but it looks as in the process of laying over it looks as if it hit something down in that ditch could have been a large bolder or some other object . Many years ago a driver from Sewart Crgt. was hit by a tornado in southern Illinois where as the tornado latterly picked up the whole unit stayed in tact did not brake away from the 5 th. wheel and set it down in a corn field . Tornadoes do stuff like that like blow down a house but leaves a glass of water sitting on the sink . Sewart wanted to fire him for not having his unit under control actually the truck was fine just had to drive it out of the field . The driver takes the termination letter to the union the union comes back to the t/m and tells him to use it for toilet paper . Nothing was ever said again about the incident the driver went back to work and every thing turned out fine .

I pull triples every night, and have stopped due to poor conditions more times than I can count. Couldn't give a rats ass what linehaul says... they are not here or in the truck with me. You are the captain of the ship.... if it is wind, he must have felt it bucking him around... You have to take the responsibility when it's your run. bottom line, if it's not safe.... stop!!!
Indiana and Ohio turnpikes shut down triples when wind excedes 45 MPH

My tractor has a speedometer so I can tell how fast I'm going, a temp display so I know when the ambient is below freezing, a black-ice detector so I know when conditions are such that black-ice can form... but I've got nothing in my cab that can communicate to me that I'm about to be hit by a 'gust' of wind. I may be driving on a windy day with gusts forecast but I still have no way of knowing when one of those predicted gusts might be strong enough to upset my rig. To hold someone responsible for such an event is ludicrous.

The old Ford 9000's had a wind gust detector in them. So long as all the windows and vents were closed, if your hat still blew off, that was a wind gust...

WRONG! Some of us stopped drinking the Kool Aid and realized there IS life after CWX (Con-Way Freight Western-LOL)! ;)
I will NEVER regret my 12 years with CWX/Con-Way (I quit, was not even close to being fired, for the record) but it sure is nice to be treated like a real driver now over here at XXXXX (and the pay rocks too!):)

Back in the COE days at the company that funded your present day operations...
A transport operator as we were called was just a few miles the other side of Mill City in the middle of the night had an accident also. Something hit the front grill and took out the radiator and front end of said tractor a total loss and no one ever found out what it was that caused the damage. I have heard other drivers ( Yellow) talk about flying saucers out in the flourishing waste land ...

Why are you afraid to say where you work?

We have a had quite a few turn out of here for Estes. They are all quite happy. And more than willing to tell you all about it.

I was running out west years and years ago talking to a another driver headed in the same direction and he was telling me to watch out for the SAND MONKEYS. They will run you right off the road.

When you are up in the great white north, watch out for snow snakes, they stand up right in front of you and chip the paint on the hood...

I worked for estes before conway. It is a chicken sh*t outfit if there ever was one. I feel this way probably because of the location I was at.

I judge a company based on there equipment and at what point if any OT gets paid. Based on that criteria, the BIG E is definitly NO place for me. Talk about driving around town in a bucket of bolts. In my part of the world, every customer and I mean EVERY customer thinks the BIG E sucks and the only reason they due business with them is because there rates are the CHEAPEST. You get what you pay for.
