First off, without writing piles of garbage and keeping things simple the USA is about 6 to 8 weeks from being out of oil.
First the SPR is due to be empty roughly this october. USA has been drawing 13 million per two weeks at the most recent rate. So the SPR is going to be out sometime in October at this rate. That oil went into whatever, commercial refining and military etc.
Cushing Ok is 1 million from operational bottoms, meaning tank bottoms system wide at that location. They probably have at that level maybe 20 million to draw on. If we continued to draw on Cushing, they are out in 2 weeks to three weeks. Provided there is not enough incoming oil from any source such as trains, pipeline, trucks, ships etc.
The one thing not discussed is Lube, Engine Fluids and greases etc. When a Nation wants to make war anywhere they always check to be sure they have enough. All US Carriers have a never out list usually built on these three items flown in to them constantly so that they are never out. Well... if the stores are bare, trucking cannot get more engine oil and so on they will eventually be out too.
Then at that point if America wants to buy a barrel of oil from anyone its going to be 200 dollars, 300 dollars on up. That will generate 10.00 gasoline, maybe 15.00 Diesel and so on. The mental image of filling say 340 gallons of tractor fuel and 90 of reefer fuel for 15.00 a gallon comes out to 6500 dollars for about a days work in team trucking or 1600 miles up to 2000 miles. With one more fill up needed to get to either coast of the USA.
We have been supporting other States with their buying power at a profit to us. The problem is they are becoming parasitical because they do not generate enough power for themselves and we here are actually facing power loss situations in rotating blackouts at a regular event each day for a limited time. I remember trucking in California where there was no power at all. Traffic lights did not work in the valley. So they became giant 4 way stop signs. Talk about a collision risk. Its unacceptable.
Source data for this post. Personally it will take about 30.00 gasoline for me to stop driving. At that point the work providing medical services to people will simply stop. We will sit home and pound the keyboard watching our Nation implode.
